St Lambert's Church

At the top of the Beerselberg, in the centre of Beersel, stands the parish church of Beersel, which holds some wonderful art treasures. Besides elegantly decorated Baroque furniture, it also houses the alabaster sarcophagi of the ‘van Witthem’ family. This noble family reigned over Beersel for several centuries. In fact, the feudal Beersel Castle a bit further down once belonged to the van Witthem lords.
The current church building in neo-Gothic style dates from the early 20th century. The tower however is older and dates back to the 15th century. Note that the church is not generally open to the public.
